Full Bio

Pablo Azócar, aka Pavlovpulus, is a Chilean artist and cyclist whose practice sits at the intersection of data, drawing, and design. After years working with environmental metrics, he shifted to visual art full-time in 2022, following studies in color theory and drawing in New York. His early work in photography, focusing on nature and outdoor sports, continues to inform his visual language, grounded in observation and precision. He lives and works in Santiago de Chile, producing works that are equal parts analog and algorithmic.

Azócar works with data, code, and machines to create detailed compositions that appear both precise and tactile. He often uses robotic plotters alongside traditional materials like ink and spray paint, building works that carry structure and movement. His projects explore a range of themes, from Lluvia de Datos, which visualizes Chile’s presidential election results, to LANDXCAPES, where lines echo the contours of terrain, to TRIP0, a study in repetition and color. He’s collaborated with Velocio, a cycling apparel brand, bringing together his visual language and his passion for the sport. At the core of it all is his continued interest in consistently examining how systems are constructed, broken down, and reshaped through visual means.
