Full Bio

Ivan Murit is a Paris-based artist and graphic designer born in Strasbourg in 1990. He studied art and design in Rennes and Valence, completing his diploma in 2015. With a self-taught background in computer programming, Ivan combines his deep interest in visual research and computational biology to create works that explore how natural systems can inform image production in the age of automation. His practice focuses on generating and manipulating visual forms through code, blending digital and organic aesthetics.

His projects take many shapes, from software tools to immersive installations and generative artworks. Notable highlights include his TexTuring software, which uses natural algorithms to create intricate organic patterns, and his 2022 solo exhibition "Artificial Pollination" at Galerie Derniers Jours in Paris. That same year, he contributed to Dominique Gonzales-Foerster’s "Alienarium" at the Serpentine Gallery in London and participated in group exhibitions such as "Biomorphe" at Galerie Data. He also leads workshops at institutions like the National Design Museum in Chaumont and the Art School in Besançon. Murit continues to push the boundaries of computational design, making complex systems accessible and visually captivating.
