Full Bio

Qian Qian, born in 1990 in China, is a graphic designer, digital artist, and creative director based in New York. He holds a BA in English and Economics from China Foreign Affairs University and an MSc in Design and Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh. He has worked across advertising and design, creating projects for brands including Samsung, Google, Coca-Cola, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Volvo, World, and A16Z.

Qian works across pixel-based systems and spatial environments, often beginning with visual research tied to specific places. His process involves studying local imagery, symbols, and environments and translating these elements into reduced visual forms. He designs images pixel by pixel within constrained grids, drawing each element directly rather than relying on automated generation. He is a founding member and creative director of Bright Moments, a decentralized exhibition platform presenting digital art through in-person exhibitions in cities worldwide, where he designed CryptoCitizens, a large-scale generative portrait series composed of thousands of pixel-based characters.

His work has been showcased internationally including exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Lincoln Center in New York, and Kraftwerk Berlin.
