Since 2016 Zach Lieberman has been making one unique digital artwork each day as a kind of sketch alongside whatever other projects he is working on. Patches is one such sketch. In it, the artist pushes his color-rich, algorithmic art style to extremes.
We see a chaotic interlacing of grids and stripes. Yellows and greens are punctuated by bright hints of red and swaths of black. The patterns become so dense in places that criss-crossing stripes reduce into a textured brown field. This work is an example of Lieberman coding a system for image generation and then pushing the parameters to their limits.
