“Abstract 01” is a series of modified plotter drawings in which Gunther Kleinert translated music into imagery.

The work seen here, labeled 20230510 to designate the date of its creation, was made with a plotter that followed programmed instructions as it drew lines across the surface with pigmented ink pens. A dark vertical bar at the center of the page anchors the composition, as lighter curved lines move around it in waves. A warm orange glow made with acrylic spray paint softens the background. The work reflects Kleinert’s interest in expressing the vibrations of sound on the page.
