Harnessing the language of abstraction, this print from a digital animation by China Soria depicts overlapping 3D rings in a shifting, malleable blur. Parallel vertical bands make the composition appear to be dynamic, in the manner of a pixelated computer display or lenticular image. Soria’s work fuses traditional artistic concerns such as rhythm and balance with emergent technologies.
Soria studied architecture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. His multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, and digital animation. His work responds to the instability of contemporary life, using poetic arrangements, discarded materials, and generative variation to reflect on survival, value, and transformation.
