Nazca is a series of 256 WebGL generative animations by Kim Asendorf minted on the Tezos blockchain in 2022. Named after the Nazca Lines, a series of gigantic geoglyphs carved into the Peruvian desert 2,000 years ago, Asendorf’s digital update also traces meandering geometric lines.
The lines vary in thickness from one work to another, but they all feature sputtering bursts of colored pixels tracing paths over a black background, forming networks like city streets, long lines, right-angled spirals, and more. Nazca #194’s lines are thick and pulse rapidly, while #35 and #98 feature lines that are thinner but still brim with frenetic movement.
