Okazz’s Random Tilings explores the visual possibilities of Voronoi tessellation, an algorithmic process that divides space into cells based on proximity to randomly scattered points, or “seeds.” The resulting network of equidistant boundaries produces the composition’s intricate, cellular structure.
In Random Tilings, these cells appear as interlocking squares, rectangles, and pentagons, each filled with a distinct color. Smaller tiles form a dense background field, while larger, irregular polygons overlap to create winding superstructures that stretch across the frame and branch downward like roots.
Through the logic of tessellation, Okazz transforms mathematical precision into rhythmic, organic patterns—an ordered complexity that feels almost alive.
