Okazz’s Square Symphony mesmerizes through motion and a strange, silent synesthesia. Created using p5.js, the series layers countless algorithmically sized and colored forms into frenetic yet hypnotic compositions that seem to produce music without sound.
Across the works, expanding circles, flickering checkerboards, waveforms, clocks, and blinking eyes move in constant, independent rhythms. In Square Symphony #66, yellow, red, purple, and blue elements glow against a black background like neon lights in the dark.
Though the pieces are silent, their movements suggest sound—the circles pop, the clocks tick, the grids hum like escalators. Each viewer hears something different, but the illusion remains: motion becomes melody.
